Professional Fees
The Professional Fees Sub-Committee was formally created to: -
- Prepare a suitable Guide for Fees to provide reasonable remuneration for professional services, and to present such Guide to the Committee for adoption.
- Maintain constant surveillance of the Guide to ensure that fees chargeable are in keeping with rising costs of operation and costs of living and where necessary recommend suitable variation in the Guide.
- Review any anomalies that may arise following the introduction on new equipment or techniques.
- Prepare suitable articles for Azimuth, to educate members in correct use of the Guide when occasion arises.
- Liase with other divisions of The Institution of Surveyors Australia to ensure parity of charges throughout the profession.
- Inform other professional bodies, government departments and instrumentalities of variations to the Guide.
- Investigate cases of disputed fees and to adjudicate in such cases; to act as a tribunal without reference to the Committee unless a matter of principle arises.
- When considered desirable, to advise members concerned in dispute of any misinterpretation by a member.
